Making your worksheet…

Sheet code: –

Type the code printed on a sheet to get the same sheet back, with its answers.

How it works

  1. Choose the size of the numbers: two-digit numbers to start, then three or four digits.
  2. Print the worksheet. Twelve problems fit on a page.
  3. Check with the answer key on page two, then press New sheet for new problems.

How borrowing works

In 52 − 27, 2 is less than 7, so borrow a ten: 12 − 7 = 5. The tens column now has 4 tens, and 4 − 2 = 2, so the answer is 25.

Questions and answers

Is regrouping the same as borrowing?

Yes. Regrouping, borrowing and trading name the same step.

Can the numbers be bigger?

Yes. Choose three-, four- or five-digit numbers in the settings.
