Making your worksheet…

Sheet code: –

Type the code printed on a sheet to get the same sheet back, with its answers.

How it works

  1. Choose the size of the numbers: two-digit numbers to start, then three or four digits.
  2. Print the worksheet. Twelve problems fit on a page.
  3. Check with the answer key on page two, then press New sheet for new problems.

How regrouping works

In 47 + 38, the ones make 15: write 5 and carry 1 ten to the tens column. Then 4 tens + 3 tens + 1 carried ten make 8 tens, so the answer is 85.

Questions and answers

Is regrouping the same as carrying?

Yes. Regrouping, carrying and “carrying the one” all name the same step.

Can I mix problems with and without regrouping?

Yes. On the Column math page choose Mixed under Regrouping.
